Over the last couple of years the Autonomous Vehicle Laboratory has designed modules for autonomously driving micro-mobility vehicles such as campus mail delivery. The design includes new sensors setups, methods for local scale mapping / localization, semantic modeling of the world to allow for contextual navigation, detection and tracking of other road users, and use of simulation for verification of design decisions. The system has been tested over a six month period. In this presentation we do a review of our motivation, approach, methods and results this far.
